Lighthouse , Diamond Harbour: The Hooghly riverbank at Diamond Harbour is where the Lighthouse stands since 1808. It is known to have been built by the Portuguese to aid them in their movements at sea as well as at docking at Diamond Harbour.

Currently, the Diamond Harbour Lighthouse is governed by the Indian Lighthouse (Amendment) Act 1985 under the Government of India Ministry of Shipping, Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships.
