About Chini Ka Rauza Information-Agra
Chini-ka-Rauza is a mausoleum of Allama Afzal Khan Mullah. He was a great scholar and poet. He was also the Prime Minister of the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan. The Indo-Persian architecture of this tomb is considered as the milestone because it is the first building in India which has been exclusively decorated by glazed tile works. Chini or colorful tiles is the distinctive feature of this tomb. The name of the tomb is derived from these tiles. This is a rectangular tomb and is erected in brown stone. The walls of mausoleum are decorated with colorful tiles and inscriptions which give a distinctive look. Chini-ka-Rauza is just 1 km away from Itmad-ud-Daulah, on the eastern bank of Yamuna River.
