Devikapuram is another religious place near Arunachalam. Situated at a distance of 40 km from Arunachalam the temple at Devikapuram is dedicated to Devi Periyanayaki. The temple is situated at the centre of the town. The places was earlier called as Devi Kezhpuram in the name of the local diety.
Devi Periyanayaki temple has the huge corridor. The Rajagopuram is huge with many stunning carvings. The temple compound has 3 smaller temples.
The first temple has a huge Nandi, a 36 pillared hall and Idols of Lord Vinayaka and Lord Muruga (Subramanya Swami). Opposite the tank there is a single stone carving of a Mandapa resembling a chariot drawn by horses. There is an enclosure with Nava Grahas, idol of Lord Nataraja, idols of first four Nayanmars and Devi Periyanayaki Amman.
In the second temple there is Shiva lingam and lord Ganapath.
In the third temple Devi Periyanayaki Amman is the main deity with various gods around.
