Diwan Mohata Nathmal, the then Prime Minister of Jaisalmer was the resident of this Haveli. The life size replicas of two elephants made of yellow stone at the main entrance give the impression that they are guarding the Haveli.
Starting the work simultaneously from two different ends these two brothers took care of different features of the Haveli very artistically. The building got irregular shape as there was no such instrument to track the continuity of the construction.
The pillars and walls have fine engravings of horses, cattle, and flora. The most astonishing fact is the drawing of modern amenities like fans, cars etc., which were never seen by the architects. They engraved it with the help of the descriptions of the people who had seen them.
Thus the structure and the architecture of this Haveli is the unique one in Jaisalmer.
