As per the name this monument is a pavilion standing on 84 (Chaurasi) pillars. Located on a high platform the structure has two storeys, a cenotaph and a temple. Lord Shiva in the form of Linga is worshipped in this with great enthusiasm and this has pushed back the importance of the cenotaph.
A short flight of steps reach in to the domed structure. The second floor is on a flat roof with a large bulbous dome in the middle and four smaller domes on every corner of the roof. A narrow spire is placed on each of these domes and a few smaller domes are found around these main cupolas.
The sidewalls of the platform are enriched with animal carvings, and the paintings of contemporary Rajput lifestyle of 17th century are on the pillars. The ceilings of both the floors are painted colorfully with battle scenes, Rajput fish symbols, horses and other traditional images.
