Guru Ke Mahal, as the name signifies is a popular place of the Gurus. Gurudwara Guru Ke Mahal was the residence of Sri Guru Ram Das. And Guru Arjan Dev got marriedas well as appointed as a Guru in this Mahal. Guru Hargobind Singh resided here for some time and was also got married off in this Mahal. This is also the birthplace of Atal Rai and Guru Tegh Bahadur.
Despite the daily services, a special settee and Langar (free kitchen) are held on every Sunday subsequent the first of a Bikrami month (March). The birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur (who was born on Baisakhi day of 1621) is the foremost occasion of the year. Initially this building was hoisted as a modest shed by Guru Ram Das during 1573 AD, and it was modified and renovated by Guru Hargobind and Guru Arjun Dev. Now this residential building has been wrought in the form of a Gurudwara, with the Guru Granth Sahib positioned in an immense rectangular lobby.
