Toranmal has a very short history as much is not known about this small but prominent hill station located on the plateau which was once the seat of the rulers of Mandu (now in Madhya Pradesh). Local tribals living around the plateau still have high regards for this once a seat of dynastic power and call the plateau by name - 'Gadh'. As a respect for this place, the local tribals used to come every year on Mahashivratri day. British came over here 125 years ago and they constructed Church 100 years back, which is still in existence.
Mandu kings, Mughal Empire, Marathas, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Faruqi dynasty, Tughlaq empire, Bahmani dynasty, Satavahanas, Vakatakas, Yadava dynasty, Sanga dynasty, Peshwas & British were the rulers.
Toranmal is famous for its lush green landscapes and scenic beauty.
Malik Raja Faruqi, Ashoka, Firoz Tughlaq, Hasan Gangu, Allauddin Khilji invaded Ramachandra Yadava, Pusyamitra, Agastya, Seunchandra, Syamidasa Bhulunda, Capt. James Briggs, etc were the famous personalities.
