How to reach Dhar By Bus-Car-Taxi-Train

By Air:
The nearest airport to Dhar is the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar National Airport in Indore which is at a distance of 62 kms. The Airport is connected to major cities of India. There are at least 4 airlines operating from Indore: Indian, Jet Airways, Jet Lite and Kingfisher. Regular local/state government buses and prepaid taxies ply from airport to Dhar.

By Train:
Dhar does not have a rail head. One can either get down at Indore (62 kms) which is connected to major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Howrah, Bhopal, Ujjain, Gwalior, Bhind, Jabalpur, Bilaspur, Khandwa, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Ambala Cantt, Jammu, Dehradun and Trivandrum.

Alternatively, Ratlam which is 93 kms has four major Railway Tracks passing which are along Mumbai, Delhi and Ajmer. The Khandwa railway track is a Meter Gauge track.

Taxis and buses are available from respective stations to take you to Dhar.

By Road:
Dhar is well connected by road to major cities within the state of Madhya Pradesh. National Highway 59 (NH 59) links Ahmedabad in Gujarat with Indore in Madhya Pradesh passes through Dhar. The National Highway 79 (NH 79) connects Ajmer in Rajasthan and Dhar in Madhya Pradesh. Govt. run MPSRTC buses ply between Dhar, Indore, Mandu, Mhow, Ratlam, Ujjain, and Bhopal. Even taxis can be rented to Dhar from Indore, Mhow, Ratlam, Ujjain and Bhopal.

By Bus:
Dhar is connected by bus to prominent towns in Madhya Pradesh. One can avail the services of local and Government operated MPSRTC bus services travel to and from Dhar town.

i am proud that my ancestor belong to that place . they moved from there to rotas then to Delhi.the mughal ruler wanted to take them. since then we are here .i got the family tree from vikarma dattya to my grand son... added by   S.D.Bharel on Feb 15 2013
