The Sheetla Mata Temple is one of the most famous shrines of the town. Located in the outskirts of the town near the Kasauli Road, the temple is dedicated to the Goddess Sheetla Mata. The temple is major crowded during the month of March/April during the festival when women come to the temple to worship the Goddess with pure water, milk and sweets. The ritual says that hot food is not cooked at home that day and they cook the food the previous night to keep heat (anger) away from home. This is believed to please the Goddess and she blesses the family with peace and good health.
