Kirandul Iron Ore Mines History-Origin-Importance-Architecture

Kirandul Iron Ore Mines is known for the exploration and casting of iron ore on a large scale. Kirandul along with the nearby Bailadila Iron Ore Mines -14 forms to be the first large scale open cast mechanized iron ore mines in India for which Detailed Project Report (DPR) was prepared by NMDC. It was commissioned on April, 1968. The mine enjoys the distinction of having unique down-the-hill conveyor system passing through a tunnel to transport iron ore from crushing plant to processing plant.
