Ashokan Pillar was constructed by the Great Emperor Ashoka. It is also known as The Lion Pillar situated at Kolhua. This pillar is made of a finely polished single piece of red sandstone that is surmounted with a bell shaped capital having 18.3 m height. A life-size structure of a lion is mounted on top of the pillar. This pillar is famous because of it being a brick stupa that commemorates Lord Buddha's final sermon.
