Kochas is an emerging city based in Rohtas district of Bihar state in India. It is located at 25°15′0″N 83°55′0″E with an elevation of 69 metres, which is 226 feet above sea level. The city is located towards the east of Varanasi and west of Patna.
Kochas derived its name from the word Kocha, which emerged from Kocha who are considered to be the descendents of The Rabhas. They are the descendants of Koch Raja of Koch kingdom.
Kochas is a block under the administration of Rohtas District which lies between Dinara and Mohania on National Highway 30. The town is a popular business center comprising of 15 Panchayats which is fast developing into an academic hub with many prestigious educational institutions already having established their base in the city.
In the aftermath of the economic reforms of 1991 AD, the city of Kochas had undergone several changes. Eventually, it started becoming a crucial economic zone as well as a major business center. One of the chief industries that can be found in Kochas vividly are the Rice Mills.
