Chitralekha Udyan, Tezpur: Named after the British Deputy Commissioner of Assam - Mr. Cole, the Cole Park is a very picturesquely landscaped and well-groomed garden which reflects a tinge of Mughal Gardens. This is one of the most visited places in Tezpur for its sheer verdant beauty. People spend time leisurely strolling around this place or go boating in the Lake in the middle of the Park. It s a favourite among the locals.
The Cole Park was recently renamed Chitralekha Udyan. This Park has always hosted Art Competitions regularly which is attended by lots of people in and around Tezpur.
Cole Park is also where the Bhomoraguri Inscriptions have been transferred to which depict ancient plans to erect a bridge across River Brahmaputra. Certainly an intriguing piece of history and art!
