Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple, Mantralayam: The very name tells us that the Lord Hanuman here is in the form where He has five heads. The five heads of Lord Panchamukhi are amalgamation of Lord Varaha, Garuda, Hanuman, Narasimha and Hayagreeva. This is another beautiful place worth visiting. The Lord here is a Swayambhu inscription on the rocky caves. The sacredness, serenity and the tranquil atmosphere of Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swami Temple draws many tourists and devotees here.
The existence of this temple says that Sri Guru Raghavendra was an ardent devotee of Lord Rama and Sri Panchamukhi Hanuman. Guru Raghavendra performed penance for twelve years and thus got the darshan of Lord Hanuman in the form of Panchamukhi Hanuman. Apart from Lord Hanuman, other Gods like Lord Venkateshwara Swami with His consort Maha Lakshmi and Lord Venkateshwara in Kurma avatara (Boar Form).
On the way to the temple there are natural rock formations. One is like bed, pillow, and another like an aerial vehicle.
