Karmanghat Hanuman temple was built during 12th century (1143 AD approx.) by Kakatiya kings. One of the renowned legends of this historical temple is that while on a hunting trip a king of Kakatiya dynasty heard thunderous chanting of Lord Rama’s name as “Ram Ram” from lord hanuman’s self manifested statue. The King took the blessings of Lord Hanuman and returned to his kingdom. On the same night the kings was advised by the Lord Hanuman in his dream, to build a temple at that place where he found the statue.

Subsequently he constructed a temple with the divine blessings of Lord Hanuman.  The Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb sent out his Army troops around the country to destroy all the Hindu temples.  Neither the troops nor the Emperor Aurangzeb could enter through the compound wall of this temple. As when they tried to enter into this temple, they heard the warning “Karo Man Ghat” which means make your heart stronger to destroy this temple. Hence this temple got to be popular as Kar man ghat Hanumanji temple.
