Gooty City Travel Guide

Gooty is a town on the Kurnool-Bangalore highway, at a distance of 52kms from Anantapur city. Gooty was called as Gowthamapuri in olden days. This place is famous for a fort, which is one of the ancient hill forts of Andhra Pradesh There are some famous temples in this place, which are worth visiting.

Gooty is also known for significant railway presence as it has many railway lines passing through it. Hence it is also called as 'Railway Town' of Anantapur.
