Sathupally is a major town located in the Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh. The town constitutes some seven nearby villages (the words "Saath" means seven and "Pally" means village) and hence got the name. It is just 100km away from Vijayawada and 279 km from Hyderabad. Nearby towns are Tiruvur, Vissannapeta, Nuzvid, Eluru, Wyra and Khammam. The town is growing fast at a steady pace with several agricultural and infrastructural developments. In the coming years, a thermal power plant is expected to be established as the town already has a coal unit of Singareni Collieries located nearby. Sathupally is also politically famous as the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri. Jalagam Vengalrao belongs to this place.
