Kondaveedu is place famous for an ancient historic fort of Andhra Pradesh. In its hay days, Kondaveedu fort was a prominent kingdom of the Reddy rulers and today the ruins of the fort put forth a frayed history to the tourist.
There are nearly 21 Stupas adorning the fort. A temple of Gopinatha (Lord Sri Krishna) and Kathulabavi (a well) at the foot of the hillock with many other temples, some residential structures of the kings are other good places to get the glimpse of the past. There are other attractions once you climb the hill like the pillared hall and the entrance gateway on east and west side of the fort.
Today, this place provides the natural scenic beauty and is an ideal place to get the glimpse of the historic days. It also offers you a good trekking experience. Best time to visit is during winter as summers are too hot here. Custard apples are largely available in the fort premises which you can just pluck them and have.
