Serpent is associated with Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. You can always see Lord Shiva with a serpent around His neck and Lord Vishnu relaxing on the Serpent (or Adishesha). For most of the Indians, worshipping serpent is considered sacred. The temple in Keslapur, dedicated to Serpent lord is called as Nagoba temple or Adishesha Temple.
