Achanta, Andhra Pradesh: Achanta is a small but prominent village in West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. This ancient village, Achanta is situated in the Godavari River basin. Popularly called as "Rice Bowl", Achanta is famous for the temple of Lord Shiva who takes the form of Rameshwara Swami here. When you visit this village, you will definitely feel close to nature as Achanta is full of lush green fields and picturesque surrounding. 

Achanta was an important religious centre for the Eastern Chalukyan Empire. It offers two major attractions to visit- the most famous Rameswara Temple and the famous building Gandharva Mahal.
