Palace of Jodha Bai is the largest and most important part of Imperial Harem. It was named after Akbar’s Rajput wife, Jodha Bai. It had all the facilities, provisions and safeguards. It is widely accepted that the building was for Zenani-Dyodhi or Raniwas. The building houses of a rectangular block, with a single magnificent gateway on the eastern side. It has several Hindu motifs, which confirms that the resident of the building was a Hindu lady. It has the distinctive Rajasthani and Gujarati architectural features. This spacious palace was assured with security and privacy. Jodha Bai Palace is the great example of the amalgamation of two opposing architectural styles of the Mughals and Rajputs.
