The city of Udaipur lies on the Golden Quadrilateral, midway between Delhi and Mumbai national highways (NH 8) and it is around 700 km from either metros. It is well connected by an efficient bus service (RSRTC) with most cities of Rajasthan. Taxis, private buses and shared autos too ply on a regular basis.
Dabok airport also known as Maha Rana Pratap airport is 25km from the city centre. Daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Jaipur are available. Prepaid Taxis to the city of Udaipur cost Rs. 400 and are the only means of transport to and from the airport.
Udaipur is well connected to other parts of Rajasthan state as well as India. It is located on the main broad gauge railway line where passenger and express train services are available from Udaipur to nearby cities like Jaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer.
Udaipur is connected by an efficient bus service with most Rajasthan towns including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, and Mt Abu. Govt. run RSRTC and private bus services comfortable sleeper coaches are also available for longer trips to places like Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur and Ahmedabad to Udaipur. The bus charge is about Rs 4 per km.
